It serves to present information for diagnostic purposes that was collected as the operating system issued a bug check.

When you have this problem after upgrade your Windows Vista to Service Pack 2 (SP2) with this message on BSoD :

BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER (fe)

There are some steps to fix this problem. I have some computers that i manage (my laptop and some computers on my campus) and all fixed using below step by step :

Step 1 :

  • Restart my windows and start in Safe Mode
  • Go to Power Plan, choose  Balanced power plan.
  • Go to setting >> advanced setting at Balanced power plan
  • Under USB section there is an option for USB selective suspend option.  By default the plan called for disabled while on wall power and  enabled while on battery power.  I changed the plan so that  USB selective suspend option was disabled for both wall power and battery power.
  • Restart my windows and start in normal mode.

Some computers fixed with above step.  But some don’t.  So i think i will change how the system manage paging file size.

Step 2 :

  • Restart my windows and start in Safe Mode
  • Go to Control panel >> System >> Advance system settings
  • On Advanced tab, click Performance >> Settings
  • Choose Advanced tab and click Change button on Virtual Memory
  • Uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives
  • Select System Managed Size on my system drives (usually drive C)
  • Click OK and close all tab.
  • Restart my windows and start in normal mode.

There is my last computer that did not fix yet.  So i did another trick below.

Step 3 :

  • Restart my windows and start in Safe Mode
  • Go to Start Menu >> Accessories >> System Tools >> System Restore
  • Check choose a different restore point and click next
  • Choose restore point that installed Service Pack 2, so my windows will be started like when SP2 have not been installed.
  • Change the power plan for USB option and paging file size like step 1 and step 2 above
  • Restart my windows and start in normal mode
  • Upgrade windows to SP2

Now, all computers fixed and i am a happy person. Remember, all step by step above is from my experience and could be different for other.  Just do your trial and error and you will find the best way to solve your BSoD problem.

Through the marriage, after over a year and a half of off-again on-again speculation and failed negotiations, Microsoft and Yahoo have combined their search engine and online advertising businesses in order to close the gap separating both companies from Google. Under the agreement, Microsoft’s Bing search engine will power Yahoo search on all Yahoo sites. At the same time, Yahoo will take on the role of exclusive worldwide relationship sales force for itself and for Microsoft, and will deal directly with both of the companies’ premium search advertisers.

CEO Carol Bartz stated earlier this year that it would take Microsoft boatloads of money to get Yahoo. While there is no money upfront, according to the financial terms of the agreement disclosed, Bartz still managed to get her wish. The Yahoo CEO indicates that the partnership with Microsoft brings to the table “boatloads of value” for Yahoo, for its users, and for the industry. As far as Yahoo is concerned, the company is expecting its annual operating income to get a boost of approximately $500 million. Current estimates reveal that Yahoo expects expenditure savings of about $200 million, with a forecasted $275 million extra to annual operating cash flow.

“Through this agreement with Yahoo!, we will create more innovation in search, better value for advertisers, and real consumer choice in a market currently dominated by a single company,” revealed Steve Ballmer, Microsoft chief executive officer. “Success in search requires both innovation and scale. With our new Bing search platform, we’ve created breakthrough innovation and features. This agreement with Yahoo! will provide the scale we need to deliver even more rapid advances in relevancy and usefulness. Microsoft and Yahoo! know there’s so much more that search could be. This agreement gives us the scale and resources to create the future of search.”

Microsoft and Yahoo promised that the deal was designed to offer an evolved web search experience to benefit not only end users but also advertisers. At the same time, the Redmond company noted that the partnership would ensure sustained innovation to the industry. Neither Microsoft nor Yahoo have made it a secret that they would flex their combined search engine muscles to go against Google.

And now there seems to be another reason why Microsoft execs should be patting themselves on the back as data from search-advertising network Chitika shows that Bing users are 55 percent more likely to click on an ad in a site they are visiting, compared to Google users.

“We at Chitika are quite fond of search engines: since all of our ads serve only to search traffic, they’re our bread and butter in the online world. So with Microsoft’s new Bing decision engine making so much noise, we thought we’d take a closer look at the clickthrough rates of visitors from the three major search players: Yahoo!, Google, and Bing,” Dan Ruby, director of marketing at Chitika, said about the reasoning behind the study.

The study looked at ads on 50,000 sites in Chitika’s network, which generated 32 million impressions in a week this month. The findings show that users who landed on the sites coming from a Bing search were more likely to click on an ad, with clickthrough rates of 1.5 percent. Meanwhile, only 1.24 percent of those coming from Yahoo’s search engine clicked on ads on the sites, with Google users coming dead last following on ads only in 0.97 percent of the cases.

While the data is interesting in itself, does it really say anything about the ad market or Bing for that matter? One could assume that the fact that Bing users are more likely to click on ads is a characteristic of the whole group and not just an unrelated coincidence. One could even speculate, like TechCrunch does, that they are using Bing in the first place because they are more susceptible to ads, as Microsoft has been pouring tens of millions in an ad campaign for the search engine. Still it may not have anything to do with the product itself but rather with the fact that it has such a small audience.

Selisih satu hari sejak musibah bom tersebut membuat kami semua “gamang” karena tujuan kami tidak hanya ke Jogja tetapi juga ke Borobudur dan menurut isu Borobudur merupakan tempat yang mulai dijaga sangat ketat.  Tetapi karena sudah direncanakan jauh hari sebelumnya, maka kami “nekat” berangkat juga.

Kisah yang akan saya ceritakan disini akan bercerita mengenai sisi jajanan dan makanan yang kami temui dan kami cicipi sejak dari Blitar – Jogja – Borobudur – Jogja – Blitar.  Oleh karena itu “episode” kali ini bercerita mengenai Wisata Kuliner kami.  Mengenai cerita lainnya, akan saya coba ceritakan di kesempatan lain, itupun kalau saya sempat ;)

Pagi hari tanggal 18 Juli 2009 kami berangkat pukul 06.00 WIB  menggunakan mobil sedan “pinjaman dari ortu” dengan harapan akan sampai di Jogja tidak terlalu sore.  Menurut kalkulasi saya dari pengalaman sebelumnya, perjalanan Blitar – Jogja paling lama akan memakan waktu sekitar 5-6 jam dengan kecepatan mobil. Perjalanan di pagi hari serasa menyegarkan juga meskipun ternyata di jalanan sangat padat dan paling cepat rata-rata kecepatan mobil hanya 70-80 km/jam.  Sampai di Nganjuk pukul 08.10 WIB perut mulai keroncongan karena kami memang berangkat tidak sarapan terlebih dahulu.  Karena tujuannya juga untuk wisata kuliner, maka kami berniat makan di perjalanan saja.  Rencana saya, makan pagi di Rumah makan Accord 2 di Ngawi yang terletak di jalan raya Caruban-Ngawi.

Menu yang kami pilih untuk makanan adalah Soto Babat, Mie Hotplate, Lontong Cap Gomeh, Bakmie Goreng.  Sedangkan minuman kami pilih Es Kelapa Muda, Es Jeruk, dan Es Buah.  Mengenai rasanya kami acungi jempol untuk soto babat, lontong cap gomeh dan bakmie goreng.  Rasanya mantap-tap-markatap. Mie Hotplate rasanya agak aneh menurut lidah kami sekeluarga karena menggunakan sauce tauco. Untuk Bakmie Goreng, kalau anda penikmat sekedarnya, saya anjurkan ajak teman anda karena porsinya sangat banyak. Untuk minuman, es kelapa muda dirasa kurang mantap karena kelapanya sudah agak tua. Es jeruk dan es buah rasanya juga standard.  Mengenai harga, standard juga.  Kami berdelapan menghabiskan sekitar Rp. 155.000,-.  Saya beri RM. Accord 2 Bintang Dua.

Dapur Raos Resto : Rajanya Masakan Tradisional

dapur_raosSesampai di Jogja pukul 14.30 WIB, kami menuju ke Godean arah dimana Om saya berada. Kami putuskan untuk makan siang dulu.  Saat di perempatan jalan raya Godean Km4, tepatnya setelah Supermarket GIANT, tepat diatas Lampu “Bangjo” (traffic light) ada baliho Dapur Raos Resto yang tidak pernah kami lihat sebelumnya kalau ke Jogja.  Kami arahkan mobil kami ke kiri ke arah Jl. Patran Banyuraden 154B dimana Resto tersebut berada sesuai info di baliho.  Restonya bersuasana pedesaan dan memberi kesan alami dengan hiasan air terjun buatan di kaca depan.  Kami parkir didepan resto dan muncul dari dalam resto sosok seseorang yang saya kenal saat di Malang dulu. Ternyata resto ini adalah dibawah manajemen Pak Giri Widagdo (Pak Dodok) yang sangat saya kenal saat kami sama-sama berbisnis di kota Malang.  Singkat kata setelah chat-chit-chat, kami duduk di resto dan disuguhi makanan pembuka gratis, yaitu teh hangat pahit, keripik ketela dan keripik pisang.  Kami memesan Gurami Asam Manis,  Cha Sawi, Ayam Penyet, Bandeng Penyet, Nasi Putih Organik, Es Kelapa Muda, Milkshake Coklat, Juice Semangka, Kopi dan Es Jeruk.  Sekitar 15 menit makanan-minuman mulai datang. Rasanya Top-top-markotop.  Cha Sawi gurih, ayam penyet lunak, bandengnya juga enak ditambah nasi putih organik yang sedap.  Minumannya juga menyegarkan.  Kekuranganya mungkin hanya di Gurami asam manis yang rasa kuahnya kurang merasuk karena sepertinya gurami digoreng tanpa bumbu kemudian baru dituang kuah asam manis.  Mengenai harga ternyata cukup murah, sekitar Rp. 145.000,-.  Saya beri Dapur Raos Resto Bintang Tiga.

Borobudur-Silver Resto : Taste of Indonesia

bs_restoKeesokan harinya, Minggu 19 Juli 2009, sekitar pukul 14.00 WIB kami berangkat ke Borobudur.  Kami berangkat siang karena paginya ada acara perkawinan.  Selain itu kami sepakat berangkat siang karena saat sampai di Borobudur tidak akan terlalu panas.  Kami sampai di Borobudur sekitar pukul 15.00 WIB dan setelah bercapek-capek naik-turun dan menjelaskan beberapa hal mengenai borobudur kepada anak-anak, kami belanja beberapa souvenir seperti kaos, gantungan kunci, dll.  Pukul 17.30 WIB kami bergerak ke arah Candi Mendut dan terus  ke Jl. Mayor Kusen Km. 2,4 Mungkid Magelang.  Kami ingin mencoba Borobudur-Silver Resto yang menurut baliho di sekitar borobudur merupakan Taste of Indonesia.  Ternyata di BS resto ini juga terdapat pusat kerajinan perak.  Kami sempat melihat di showroom BS ini yang bersebelahan dengan resto.  Sangat cantik dan banyak yang unik-unik.  Karena rasa lapar, maka saya segera menuju resto untuk memesan makanan dan minuman.  Kali ini kami memesan Gurami Asam Manis, Bebek Bakar, Gurami Bakar, Nasi Putih Bakul, Es Coklat, Milkshake Coklat, Kopi, Teh, Soda Gembira, dan Es Jeruk.  O ya, saat kami masuk, kami langsung diberi handuk kecil basah untuk membasuh tangan serta disuguhi minuman air putih dan keripik ketela sebagai pembuka dan gratis.  Di dalam resto terdapat perangkat gamelan sehingga anak-anak bisa bermain sambil menunggu makanan datang.  Sekitar 20 menit, semua hidangan tersaji.  Rasanya.. wow.. mantap-tap-markatap serta top-markotop.  Penyajiannya ala resto di hotel bintang lima, baik meja, hidangan dan pelayanannya.  Semua hidangan yang kami pesan ludes.  Makanan dan minuman sangat nikmat.  Gurami asam manis disajikan dengan cara goreng tepung bumbu kecil-kecil kemudian disiram kuah asam manis. Semua bumbu merasuk.  Tidak salah kalau saya beri Bintang Empat untuk BS Resto.  Mengenai harga, memang agak mahal.  Tetapi sepadan dengan rasa dan kenikmatan yang kami peroleh.

Oke, itu tadi sekelumit perjalanan wisata kuliner kami sekeluarga.  Kalau sempat, nanti saya sambung wisata kuliner dari Joga kembali ke Blitar dimana kami sempat mampir ke Depot Bakso dan RM. Ayam Goreng Candisari Kalasan.

The first explosion is reported to have happened at the JW Marriott hotel in central Jakarta just a few blocks away from the Australian embassy.  A terrorist attack at the same JW Marriott Hotel in 2003 killed 12 people and left 150 injured.

Later there was another explosion on the first floor of the Ritz Carlton hotel, directly opposite, with windows being blown out of the hotel’s restaurant.

And about 3 hours later  the third explosion in Jakarta reported after two blasts at Mega Kuningan.  Police later denied initial reports it was also a bomb, saying the blast in the Muara Angke area was caused by a faulty car battery.  National television (Indosiar – Fokus Siang) said two people were also killed in a third explosion. Indosiar also reported there is a rumor about the fourth explosion happen on gas station  but they still can not confirm it.

The blasts come two weeks after Indonesia’s presidential election. No one has already claim the bombing so no one can say that this bombing related to the Indonesia’s presidential election.

Another national television (TVOne)  also reported that CEO of PT. Holcim Indonesia, Tim Mackay, was killed in a bomb blast at the  JW Marriott hotel.
